No muslim on the face of the earth can deny the love and attachment the heart feels to the sacred cities of Makkah and Madinah. But little is known about the history of this part of the world beyond it being the birthplace and home of our Prophet. Today these cities and the surrounding areas are known as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its rulers are the Custodians of the Two Holy Mosques.
Living in a time of disinformation, biased media outlets and partisan politics its common to see this blessed country misrepresented in a way that many Muslims don’t understand the position that this country and its ruling family has had in the annals of Islamic history and in the protection and propagation of Islam.
We should read this book because nonbelievers and misguided Muslims malign this country and spread false propaganda about its people but Shaikh ‘Abdul-‘Azīz bin Bāz said, “Some of the historians of this da’wah have stated that the Islamic history subsequent to the era of Prophethood and Rightly Guided Caliphates has not witnessed a complete observance of the Islamic rulings as has been witnessed by the Arabian Peninsula under the shade of the Saudi State which has aided this da’wah and has defended it.”
This book tells the story of the state of Muslim world between 1744 and 1818 CE from the works of Muslim historians and scholars. It details the life and efforts of Shaikh ul-Islam Muhammad bin Abdul-Wahhāb and his relationship with Imām Muhammad bin Sa’ud and how this meeting led to the revival of Tawheed and Salafiyyah in the Arabian Peninsula and the establishment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This book broadens one’s perspective of Saudi Arabia’s position on the world stage and in relation to the Salafy da’wah. It is truly an enlightening read.
Awesome post! Keep up the great work! :)
